About Us

Interior view of the South Bend Elks Lodge event space.

On West McKinley Avenue, Lodge #235 has been the kind of place South Bend residents stumble into once and keep coming back to for years. The reviews say it plainly: you feel welcome the moment you walk through the door. That's not an accident. It's the result of members and staff, including Chucky behind the bar, who actually know the people they're serving.

The lodge recently added a dedicated soft-tip dart room with three Galaxy Live dart boards, giving members a new reason to linger on a Tuesday night or challenge a friend on the weekend. The parking lot is large enough to accommodate overnight RV stays, and the staff have been known to hand out a custom lodge pin to curious travelers who ask. Small gestures like that are what separate a real community anchor from a generic gathering spot.

Mothers' Day brunches, bar nights, and member events fill the calendar throughout the year. The food and beverage program draws consistent praise, with guests describing fresh, well-prepared offerings that punch well above the typical lodge-hall standard. With a 4.4-star rating across more than 100 reviews, the numbers back up what regulars already know.

What We Offer

Lodge #235 runs a full-service bar stocked for everyday enjoyment, not just special occasions. Whether you're winding down after work or celebrating a milestone, the bar staff deliver drinks with the kind of attentiveness that keeps regulars coming back week after week.

The dart room is one of the lodge's newest draws, featuring three Galaxy Live dart boards for casual play and organized league competition. It's a proper room built for the game, not an afterthought tucked into a corner. Food service rounds out the experience, with a kitchen that earns genuine compliments for freshness and quality at every event.

Beyond the bar and game room, the lodge hosts seasonal banquets, holiday brunches, and private events for members and their guests. The oversized parking lot accommodates everything from a Friday-night crowd to overnight RV guests passing through South Bend, making Lodge #235 one of the more versatile and genuinely useful member facilities in the region.

"We had never been here before, but got invited to the Mother's Day Brunch that they were hosting. What a pleasant local gem our family has stumbled upon. All of the food & beverage offerings were fresh, the proper temperature for the dish, & delicious! They struck a nice balance of both variety of options for folks who were trying to eat on the healthier side & those looking to indulge in celebration of the holiday. They had wonderful service, & it was very clean. Best part, the pricing. Attending this event brunch was only $20!? We have been to other events around town in that same price range, & have been less than impressed, unfortunately. This place was great, & people should definitely check it out!"
